Nick Tran, Ph.D.

Nick Tran, Ph.D. has extensive experience in various scientific and leadership roles. Nick is currently working as a Data Scientist/AI-ML-DS-TechLead at SPA, Inc. Since joining SURVICE Engineering in 2017, they have held multiple positions as Chief Editor JDR&E/DTIC and Chief Editor. At IT Data Consulting, LLC, they served as a Senior Program Manager, providing business development, strategic consultant assistance, marketing, and program management services. At Maden Technologies/NOAA, they worked as a Program Manager/CTO. Nick also has experience as a Lead Scientist/Program Manager at Noblis, Inc., where they managed a large portfolio of advanced S&T and R&D research programs.

Prior to this, Nick held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Oceanoco Inc., where they led R&D efforts in various scientific fields, including organic and inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, nanotechnologies, and more. Nick also worked at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and The Tauri Group as a Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist, respectively, providing advisory and assistance services in chemical and biological defense programs. At Strategic Analysis Incorporated, they served as an Advisory/Senior Scientist, providing technical and program management advice for various defense agencies.

In addition to their professional experience, Nick Tran has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at George Washington University, where they taught Physical Chemistry and developed new science and technology for CO2 extraction to combat global warming. Throughout their career, Nick has demonstrated expertise in areas such as biosurveillance, chemical and biological detection, and protection, along with expertise in various scientific techniques and technologies.

Nick Tran, Ph.D. pursued their higher education at The University of Texas at Austin. Nick completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry at the university.
