Giorgio Gobbi joined IDB (Italian Design Brands) in September 2015 and is today Managing Director of the Group, as well as Chief Executive Officer of Meridiani Srl and Board Member of the IDB Suzhou Co. Ltd. branch and of some group companies.
Milanese, he began his career in the early 90s in Whirlpool in the durable goods sector for the home. Here he developed his professional career covering in a few years various roles in marketing, in the commercial area and in the operations area between the branches in Italy, Austria, Germany and Southern Europe, up to becoming responsible in the EMEA headquarters of the Cooking Business Units. and Refrigeration. Subsequently he took on the position of General Manager of the Italian branch of Ideal Standard, of which he directed the development for some years.
After his experience in two American multinationals, both listed on the NYSE, he spent a few years at Marazzi before entering the world of furniture with the appointment first of General Manager, and subsequently of CEO, in Calligaris. Here he led the transformation of the company from a traditional producer of tables and chairs to a company focused on promoting the brand, both through the traditional retail channel and by exploiting the multiple opportunities offered by digital transformation.
Graduated from Bocconi University, he has completed several studies related to the topic of leadership and management.
