Project Innovation Leader at Italmatch

Matteo Iorio started their work experience in 2005 as a Sous Chef at Il Terzo Cerchio, where they worked until 2008. From 2007 to 2008, they also worked as a Sous Chef at Notting Hill Brasserie. In 2009, Matteo started their private chef business, which they ran until 2012. From 2012 to 2014, they gained entrepreneurial experience leading a team of six people in the regeneration of a one-hectare marginal area at SIAM Agritechno Regeneration. During their time there, they implemented experimental and innovative technologies and significantly increased the market valuation of the land. In 2014, they worked as a Technology Consultant at a high-tech research center in Canzo, Italy, focusing on sustainable agricultural intensification. In 2016, Matteo worked as an intern at Wetsus, a European Center of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology, and also served as the Chief Scientific Officer at Phytoponics Ltd. Most recently, they have been working at Italmatch Chemicals Spa, starting as a Project Innovation Analyst in 2018 and later becoming the Project Innovation Leader in July 2019.

Matteo Iorio completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Milano between the years 2009 and 2012. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Technologies from Wageningen University & Research, which they attained from 2014 to 2016.
