Parag Malhotra's work experience began in 2009 at Ion Exchange India Ltd, where they started as a Product Management Officer and eventually became the head of the product line. Parag was responsible for market assessment, industrial trials, product launches, and sales support for water treatment chemicals. Parag also identified partners for sourcing and collaborations in the specialty chemicals business. In 2013, they joined Ion Exchange Safic (Pty) Ltd as a Product Manager. In 2015, they moved to GE Water & Process Technologies, where they held roles as an Account Sales Manager and later as a Lead Sales Manager. Since 2017, they have been working at Italmatch Chemicals in various sales roles, including Sales Consultant, Sales Area Manager, and currently as a Regional Sales Manager, South Asia.

Parag Malhotra completed a post-graduate program in management with a focus on general management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2023.
From 2007 to 2009, Parag Malhotra pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Water Resources Management at the TERI School of Advanced Studies.
Prior to that, from 2004 to 2007, Parag Malhotra obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science from Delhi University.
In addition to their formal education, Parag Malhotra has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2016, they completed the "Building Essential Leadership Skills" certification from GE. Parag also obtained a "Negotiation Skills" certification from GE in 2016.
