Maria Helena Dos Santos Fernandes De Santana

Maria Helena dos Santos Fernandes de Santana (independent member) has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Itaú Unibanco Group since 2021. She has held several positions in the Itaú Unibanco Group, including that of member of the Audit Committee (2014 to 2020).

He has been a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee of XP Inc. since 2019, having served as Chairman of the Audit Committee of XP Investimentos SA (2018 to 2019). She has been a member of the Board of Directors and Coordinator of the People, Nominations and Governance Committee of Oi SA since 2018 and a member of the Board of Directors of Grupo BIG SA since 2021.

He served as a member of the Board of Directors of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) (2016 to 2020); member of the IFRS Foundation's Board of Trustees (2014 to 2019); member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee of Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição SA (2013 to 2017); member of the Board of Directors and Coordinator of the Audit Committee of Totvs SA (2013 to 2017); member of the Board of Directors of CPFL Energia SA (2013 to 2015); President (2007 to 2012) and Director (2006 to 2007) of the Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM). Represented the CVM on the Financial Stability Board (FSB) (2009 to 2012).

He was President of the Executive Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) (2011 to 2012), during which time he was also a member of the International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC).

He worked at the São Paulo Stock Exchange – BM&FBovespa SA (currently B3 SA – Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão) (1994 to 2006), initially in the area of ​​Special Projects, and later as Executive Superintendent of Corporate Relations (2000 to 2006 ).

He served as Vice President of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC) (2004 to 2006). He is a member of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable (OECD/WB Group) (since 2000).

He holds a BA in Economics from the Faculty of Economics, Administration, Accounting and Actuarial Science at the University of São Paulo (FEA-USP), São Paulo, Brazil.
