Javier Fernandez Betria has a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry. Javier worked at Pluspetrol from 2007 to the present, where they held roles as a Sr. Reservoir Engineer & Investment Evaluation and in Business Development. In their role as Sr. Reservoir Engineer, they were responsible for reserves estimation, auditing, and certification. Javier also conducted economic evaluations of current and potential projects. Javier also worked at ITBA as a part-time professor in undergraduate and postgraduate petroleum engineering courses from 2010 onwards. In these courses, they taught topics such as investment projects evaluation and oil & gas field development.

Prior to their time at Pluspetrol, Javier worked at Repsol from 2002 to 2007. Javier held roles as an SSr. Reservoir Engineer, Production and Maintenance Engineer, and Jr. Reservoir Engineer. In these roles, they were involved in production monitoring and forecast, reserves assessment, well testing design and interpretation, and various field activities.

Javier also had an internship and worked as a Jr. Reservoir Engineer at Shell from 1999 to 2000, gaining early experience in the upstream oil and gas sector.

Javier Fernandez Betria's education history includes a postgraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering from ISE - Heriot-Watt University, which they obtained from 2000 to 2001. Prior to that, they completed their graduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires from 1994 to 1998. It is unclear when they began and finished their studies in Chemical Engineering at the same institution, as the start and end years are not provided.
