John Norton

John Norton has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning across various roles and industries. John most recently worked at IT Coalition as a Program Manager. Prior to that, they served as the Cloud Operations Lead at Impexium: Smarter, Simpler Membership Management, where they were responsible for security, operations, maintenance, availability, and performance of the production cloud application. John also merged IT capabilities into the acquiring company organization and built a scale-out architecture for improved reliability and performance.

Before their role at Impexium, John worked as a Consultant at XGILITY, where they served as a Cloud Subject Matter Expert, providing advice on incorporating Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FEDRAMP) controls. John also worked as a Senior Information Technology Consultant at Futrend Technology, Inc., managing IT assets and services for a healthcare IT government contractor and providing Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery consulting services to government agencies.

John has prior experience as a Principal Consultant and Owner at Rapidigi LLC, Senior Manager of Cloud Operations at Accela, Inc., Vice President of Technology at nubisio, and Director of Operations and IT at Connectiv Solutions. John also held the position of Director of IT, Global Enterprise Operations at Sunrise Senior Living and Director of Network Operations at Avectra.

Throughout their career, John has demonstrated expertise in managing cloud operations, implementing technical infrastructure, improving performance and reliability, and providing strategic guidance in various IT environments.

John Norton obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering-Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. John then attended Lexington High School from 1980 to 1984. John later pursued a Master of Science degree in Crisis, Emergency, and Risk Management from The George Washington University, completing their studies from 1999 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, John Norton has obtained several certifications. John achieved the ITIL v3 Foundations certification from EXIN in June 2008. John also obtained multiple certifications from Microsoft, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, all in January and February 2023.
