Davida Gatlin has an extensive work experience history. Davida started their career in 2004 as a Middle School Teacher at Houston ISD. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as an English Teaching Assistant at the Teaching Assistant Program in France USA. In 2007, they were selected as a Thomas B. Fordham Education Policy Fellow at the Center for American Progress. From 2008 to 2008, they taught as a Literacy Teacher at Cap Cana Heritage School. In 2010, they joined Points of Light, LLC as a Manager for generationOn Schools. In 2013, they became a part of Relay Graduate School of Education, starting as a Lead Planner and later taking on roles such as Managing Director of Operations, Director of Academic Compliance, and Senior Director of Academic Compliance. Most recently, in 2023, they joined iteach as the Director of Community and Government Relations. Davida has proven their skills and expertise in various education-related roles throughout their career.

Davida Gatlin holds a Master of Arts degree in Lifelong Learning Policy and Management from IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society. Davida also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (International Politics) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language and Literature, both from North Carolina State University. In addition to their academic qualifications, Davida has obtained a Texas Educator Certificate, Generalist 4-8 from the Texas Education Agency in January 2005.
