Ciaran Spillane

Ciaran Spillane is currently serving as an EU Member of the ITER Financial Audit Board at the ITER Organization, contributing to the oversight of the international fusion energy project. Previously, Ciaran held the position of Director of Budgetary Execution at the European Commission from 2006 to 2011 and served as Director of Audit and Principal Advisor at the same institution until 2014. Since 2020, Ciaran has also been a member of the Audit Committee for the EU Fusion for Energy Joint Undertaking, following a four-year term as Chairperson. Ciaran’s expertise in public sector finance is further highlighted by their role as a Public Sector Finance Advisor and as a workshop co-facilitator for the OECD-SIGMA Project in 2019.
