Darien Morales has a range of work experience in the fields of engineering and academia. Darien started their professional career as an Assistant Professor at the University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas (UCLV), where they developed programs to test analog/digital circuitry and designed a microcontroller kit for educational purposes. Darien then worked as an Assistant Professor at Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU), where they redesigned the college's computer network and taught Digital Electronics.
After that, Darien joined the University of New Brunswick (UNB) as a PhD visiting student, where they worked on the PowerShift Atlantic project and researched digital signal processing in power systems and micro grid systems. Darien also worked as a PhD Candidate and Teaching Assistant at UNB, focusing on researching Digital Signal Processing and programming Zigbee networks.
Darien then transitioned to the industry and joined ITG Technologies as a Software Developer, specializing in designing SCADA solutions and real-time operations and performance management software. Darien later advanced to the role of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Engineer at ITG, where they were responsible for producing high-quality code and collaborating effectively with the project team.
Throughout their career, Darien has demonstrated proficiency in technical skills, project management, and making technical recommendations.
Darien Morales completed a Master's degree in Computer Networks from the University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas (UCLV) from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a B.Sc. in Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering from the same university from 1996 to 2001. In terms of additional certifications, they received the Wonderware Application Developer certification from Schneider Electric Software Business in September 2015.
