Chris Hughes

Chris Hughes is an accomplished musician and educator with extensive experience in directing music programs at various institutions. Currently serving as the Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music at Ithaca College, Hughes conducts the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble and leads the Graduate Program in Wind Conducting while administering all aspects of the IC Bands. Previous roles include Director of Instrumental Studies and Associate Professor of Music at New Mexico State University, and Director of Bands and Professor of Conducting at Mahidol University. Additionally, Hughes held positions as Director of Bands at Lander University, Cherry Creek Schools, and Mesa County Valley School District 51. Hughes holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Instrumental Conducting and Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a Master of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Western Colorado University.
