Omar Parra

Omar Parra has worked in various roles and positions throughout their career. Omar began their career as a Freelance Web Designer, specializing in web design using technologies such as HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and web hosting management.

Omar then worked as a Programmer at TELNOR, where they created web applications and deployed them into Tomcat servers within Linux environments. Omar also collaborated with internal clients to gather requirements for these developments.

After that, they joined Grupo Tress Internacional as a Software Developer. In this role, they analyzed and developed solutions for clients, focusing on importing, exporting, and transforming data to establish communication between TRESS and other software systems.

From 2012 to 2016, Omar worked at ArkusNexus, where they held multiple positions including Team Leader, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Business Analyst, and Project Manager. Omar managed teams and served as an engagement manager for clients, focusing on delivering exactly what they needed and ensuring customer satisfaction.

In 2016, Omar joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Engineering Manager, responsible for ensuring the consistent application of Agile frameworks across multiple teams in different countries. Omar also managed compliance, training, communication, and the software development life cycle for a large number of Scrum teams.

In 2020, Omar transitioned to Dexcom as an Engineering Director and Site Leader, overseeing the successful operation of a Tijuana Software Site and extending the company's software development capabilities to the region.

Currently, Omar is an Agile Digital Transformation Consultant, providing consulting services to companies that want to implement or optimize Agile practices. Omar specializes in topics such as Scaled Agile Frameworks, compliance, DevOps, and software development best practices.

In 2023, Omar will be joining ITJuana as the Vice President of Engineering, where they will bring their expertise in engineering leadership to the company.

Omar Parra attended the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a degree in Computer Engineering with a focus on Computer Science. Omar also obtained several certifications related to Scrum methodology, including Scrum Coach Certification, Scrum Product Owner Certification, Scrum Master Certification, Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Professional, Scrum Foundations Educator, Advance Certified Scrum Master, and Certified Scrum Master. These certifications were obtained from institutions such as the International Scrum Institute™ and Scrum Alliance, with different obtained years ranging from 2014 to 2023.
