Martin Hignett

Martin Hignett has extensive work experience in software engineering and technical leadership roles. Martin is currently the Chief Technology Officer at ITONICS - The Innovation OS since September 2020. In this position, they are responsible for redesigning the company's product infrastructure for improved scalability and reliability. Martin is also leading a team of 7 DevOps engineers across 4 locations.

Prior to this role, Martin worked at ITONICS as a Software Architect from May 2017 to July 2020. During this time, they defined the engineering strategy and goals for the company and contributed to the development of a next-generation innovation tool. Martin was involved in designing and implementing the necessary infrastructure to support the application.

Before joining ITONICS, Martin served as a Technical Team Lead at Cezanne HR from July 2005 to May 2017. In this role, they supported and developed an existing organizational charting tool called HR Charter. Despite the challenges of working with a legacy product, they successfully released a major update and several customer projects.

Martin's career also includes positions at Appian Technology, where they worked as a Software Engineer from 2004 to 2005, and at Portrait Software as a Software Engineer from 1998 to 2002. At Appian, they built bespoke applications based on core software for number plate recognition. At Portrait Software, they contributed to the development of customer relationship management systems for banks.

Earlier in their career, Martin worked as a Software Developer at J D Associates and Paragon Software, where they reverse-engineered proprietary interfaces of mobile phones and developed synchronization software. Martin also worked as a Software Engineer at SDL International.

Martin Hignett obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Computer Science from the University of Kent. Martin enrolled in the program in 1989 and successfully completed their education in 1993.
