Ed Eckert

Ed Eckert is currently the Director of Strategic Industry Standards at Itron, a position held since July 2010, where responsibilities include developing and executing business-driven standards strategies to enhance communications between utility networks and home area networks. Prior experience includes leadership roles such as Director and Chairman of the Board at ZigBee Alliance, and director positions at organizations including the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel and The Broadband Forum. Eckert has also served as Chairman for the ATIS Standards Committee NIPP and the Federal Advisory Committee NRIC V FG 3, focusing on network standards and interoperability. Early career experience includes director roles at Ikanos Communications and Catena Networks, with a strong emphasis on telecommunications standards strategies. Ed Eckert holds a degree from Michigan Technological University.
