Kevin Clymans

Kevin Clymans has a diverse work experience in various roles within the fields of cloud engineering, system engineering, and database administration. Kevin started their career in 2006 with an internship at Colruyt, where they focused on researching a system to monitor datacenter power usage. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a database administrator at BNP Paribas Fortis and also served as a system engineer at Talent Planet, where they supported development teams and set up various services. In 2013, Kevin joined KBC Securities as a system engineer, where they were responsible for system engineering, database administration, and site reliability engineering. Kevin played a key role in designing a new RHEL hosting platform and supporting development teams. In 2018, Kevin moved to KBC Bank & Verzekering, where they continued their work as a cloud engineer and system engineer. Currently, they are working at itsme Digital ID as a Cloud Engineer.

Kevin Clymans has a diverse education history. Kevin completed a Master's degree in Electronics ICT at Lessius Hogeschool Antwerpen from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a Professional Bachelor's degree in Electronics ICT from the same institution from 2007 to 2009. Before their time at Lessius Hogeschool Antwerpen, Kevin attended GTSM from 2001 to 2007, where they studied Industrial Science.

In addition to their formal education, Kevin has obtained several certifications. Kevin became an HDP Developer: Apache Pig and Hive (SPLL) through Hortonworks in March 2018. In February 2018, they received the ADM-221 | HDP Operations: Administration Foundation (SPLL) certification from Hortonworks. Kevin also holds the HDP Operations: Hadoop Administration 2 (SPLL) certification from Hortonworks, obtained in January 2018.

Kevin has further certifications including an Oracle Certified Associate certification from Oracle, obtained in April 2013. Kevin also holds the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from EXIN, earned in November 2012. In terms of their recent achievements, Kevin obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in February 2020, and the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification in January 2020.
