Michael Hockenhull is an experienced academic with a robust background in the fields of big data infrastructures, digital methods, and philosophy. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor and postdoctoral researcher at the IT-Universitetet i København since May 2015, Michael's research focuses on the 'Data as Relation' project within the Copenhagen region. In addition to research responsibilities, Michael manages ETHOS Lab, exploring innovative intersections between big data and qualitative methods. Prior roles include President of the QA Programme at the University of Copenhagen, where leadership and strategic planning were key responsibilities, and various teaching positions that involved course delivery on advanced topics in complexity, mapping, and visualization. Michael holds a PhD in Science, Technology and Society from IT-Universitetet i København, along with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy from the University of Copenhagen.
