Michael Szell is currently an Associate Professor at IT-Universitetet i København since February 2019 and serves as an External Fellow at the Complexity Science Hub Vienna since April 2017. Szell manages Bayer & Szell OG, a company founded in September 2006, which includes the development of the massive multiplayer online game Pardus. Prior roles include Research Fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (September 2016 - January 2019) and Central European University (October 2016 - September 2017), as well as a researcher in residence at moovel Group (September 2016 - December 2016). Szell's postdoctoral experiences include positions at Northeastern University (July 2014 - September 2016) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (April 2012 - July 2014). Educational background includes a Master's degree in Mathematics from Technische Universität Wien and a degree in Physics from the University of Vienna.
