Laura Sitaru

Laura Sitaru is an Associate Professor with a Ph.D. in humanistic sciences from the University of Bucharest, where academic contributions span from October 2002 to the present, including a tenure as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages from March 2012 to February 2020. Sitaru has extensive experience in Middle East studies, having served as a researcher at the Romanian Diplomatic Institute from November 2005 to February 2017, where monitoring political developments and Arabic media was key. Additionally, Sitaru was a visiting researcher at Georgetown University, completing a Fulbright Senior Researcher program in Islamic Studies. Prior experience includes editing for the Romanian International Broadcasting Company’s Arabic Service from June 2004 to September 2008, focusing on political, social, and cultural broadcasting. Educational background also includes studies at Cairo University.
