The name Itza Brewing comes from our last name: Garcia Itza Niemi. Itza is an ancient Mayan name. It is thought that the word “Itza” comes from the Mayan words “itz” (“magic”) and “h(a)” (“water”). And that the name Itza means “Water Magician.” At Itza Brewing we strive to create magic from water: our beer.
