James Dalton is a seasoned water management expert with extensive experience in global initiatives and governance. Currently serving as a Member of the Supervisory Committee at Hydropower Sustainability Alliance and a Review Editor for Frontiers in Public Health: Planetary Health, Dalton has held various leadership roles at IUCN since 2009, including Head of the Water and Land Management Team and Director of the Global Water Programme. In addition to contributions at the Alliance for Global Water Adaptation and the CDP's Water Security Advisory Council, Dalton's previous roles include Vice Chair of the Environment Chamber at the International Hydropower Association and membership in the European Commission’s Platform on Sustainable Finance. Dalton holds a PhD and MSc from the University of Southampton, along with a BSc from Writtle University College and specialized training in Leadership Communication from INSEAD.
