Thomas Sberna is an experienced professional in ocean governance and environmental management, currently serving as the Regional Head for Coastal and Ocean Resilience at IUCN since June 2019, where responsibilities include leading the Great Blue Wall initiative and building a substantial team. As a Senior Fellow for Ocean Governance and Blue Economy with the Africa-Europe Foundation since February 2023, Thomas Sberna focuses on enhancing the partnership between Africa and Europe in this domain. Previously, Thomas Sberna held various leadership roles, including Ocean Lead for the Africa Climate Summit and Senior Manager for European Partnerships at Conservation International.
