Tim Lyons

Tim Lyons is an experienced conservation professional currently serving as the Director of Conservation at the New Mexico Biopark Society since July 2018. In this role, Tim has led several significant projects, including the assessment of the extinction risk for Central American, Sundaland, and Mexican freshwater species as part of the IUCN Red List initiatives. Tim also holds the position of Special Advisor for Ex-Situ Culture and Reintroduction with the IUCN SSC Freshwater Fish Specialist Group. Previous experience includes serving as the Director of Conservation at the Marine Aquarium Societies of North America and various research and internship roles at the University of Florida and the University of Miami. Tim holds a Master of Science in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences, both obtained from the University of Florida.
