Raed Arafat is a highly experienced professional in emergency management and medicine, currently serving as the Secretary of State and head of the Department for Emergency Situations at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Romania since January 2014. Arafat oversees national coordination for various emergency services, including the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and the Ambulance Service. Additionally, Arafat has been teaching and coordinating the discipline of Emergency Medicine at "Iuliu Hatieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca since September 2009. Arafat's extensive background includes a significant role at Mures County Emergency Hospital, providing emergency medical care and educational guidance in emergency medicine from September 1990 to August 2007. Arafat holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Iuliu Hategeanu University and a specialization in Anaesthesia & Critical Care from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Targu Mures.
