Niels Verkaik is an experienced professional in the energy sector with a focus on offshore engineering and information management. Currently serving as Team Lead Information Management at Iv-Offshore & Energy, Niels also leads systems engineering and information management for the IJmuiden Ver Beta 2GW HVDC substation project. Previous roles include Systems Engineer and Advisor for the Gigawatt Hydrogen Plant at the Port of Rotterdam, and Consultant in Energy Systems at Royal HaskoningDHV. Niels has also held senior consultancy positions at Navigant, specializing in energy systems and markets, and has a background in offshore wind research at Keppel Verolme. With a Master of Science in European Wind Energy from Delft University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Niels continues to contribute to advancements in the energy sector.
