Adam Walker has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to present. Adam started their career at Staples, where they worked as an Associate, handling customer inquiries and complaints, providing sales assistance, and managing print jobs. In 2014, they joined the UK Civil Service as a Technical Apprentice, participating in a 2-year sponsored apprenticeship program and gaining skills in Telecommunication Systems, Cryptology, Systems Design, and Programming. Adam then joined the UK Ministry of Defence, where they worked as a Software Technician and later as a Full-Stack Software Engineer, creating and managing JavaScript-based applications for big data analysis and investigation. Adam utilized Node.js, React, and C# for data transformation and provided support and rapid response to on-call incidents. Adam's next role was as a Software Engineer at Convention Cat Event Systems, where they contributed to the development of a SaaS event management software using technologies such as Node.js, React, TypeScript, Docker, and Kubernetes. Currently, Adam is working as a Systems Engineer at IVANS Insurance Solutions, focusing on transforming Java-based monolithic applications into containerized micro-services on Google Kubernetes Engine. Adam is also responsible for creating new micro-service data processing applications in Java and Spring Boot and managing GKE clusters across multiple environments.
Adam Walker completed their education at De Montfort University from 2014 to 2016, where they obtained a Foundation Degree (FdSc) or Associates Degree equivalent in Communications Systems, Security, and Computing. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2013, they attended The Wye Valley School and received their GCSE and A Levels.
In addition to their formal education, Adam has acquired several certifications. In 2016, they obtained the BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. In 2017, they earned the BCS Foundation Certificate in Systems Development and the BCS Certificate in Systems Design Techniques from the same institution. Adam also completed a Higher Level Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web & Telecoms Professionals from the Federation for Industry Sector Skills & Standards in 2017. In 2018, Adam obtained the BCS Certificate in Systems Development Essentials from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Furthermore, they obtained a Level 4 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence from City & Guilds in 2016. Lastly, in 2020, Adam received a Notary Public Commission from the State of Texas.
