Benjamin Rice

Benjamin Rice, DO, currently serves as the Director of Medical Affairs at Beacon Therapeutics, a position held since July 2024. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Medical Science Liaison at Astellas Pharma from November 2022 to July 2024 (following Astellas' acquisition of Iveric Bio) and at Sight Sciences, Inc. from December 2021 to July 2022. Additional positions include Medical Science Liaison at Recordati Rare Diseases Inc. (December 2019 - November 2021) and Allergan (July 2018 - November 2019). Benjamin Rice also completed an Ophthalmology Fellowship at Koch Eye Associates (July 2017 - June 2018) and an Ophthalmology Residency at Larkin Community Hospital (July 2013 - June 2017), which followed a Traditional Rotating Internship. Earlier career experience includes roles as a Patent Assistant at Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, LLP and a Patent Examiner for Medical Devices at the USPTO. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Osteopathy from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (2009 - 2013) and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from North Carolina State University (2003 - 2007).
