Mary Taormino

Mary Taormino is an experienced educator specializing in early childhood development and nutrition education. Currently serving as an Assistant Preschool Teacher at Children's Place Early Learning Center LLC since July 2020 and as a Teaching Assistant at IXL Learning Center since September 2019, Mary has developed lesson plans and assisted with classroom management. Previously, Mary worked as a Project Coordinator for Project Healthy Community, where lessons on nutrition and gardening were taught to young students, and created educational content for various subjects. As the Lead Food and Health Fellow at Eastern Market Corporation, Mary contributed to training incoming fellows and ensuring smooth operations. An earlier role as a Swim Instructor at Michigan State University involved teaching pool safety and swimming techniques to children. Mary holds a Master of Teaching in Elementary Education from National Louis University and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Michigan State University.
