Software Engineer at IXL Learning

Harriet Small has a diverse work experience in the technology and education sectors. Harriet first started their career as a Teaching Assistant at Brown University in 2016, where they updated and improved assignments for an introductory computer science course. Harriet then worked as a Research Intern at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2017, exploring techniques for training neural networks. Harriet further enhanced their teaching skills as the Head Teaching Assistant at Brown University in the same year, managing a team of undergraduate teaching assistants and improving the administrative and academic aspects of an introductory programming course. In 2018, Harriet interned at Duolingo as a Software Engineering Intern, where they developed an internal tool for analyzing user flow through the Duolingo mobile app. Harriet'sresponsibilities included data processing, backend coding in Python, and frontend coding using Javascript and React. Harriet later joined Saga Education in 2019 as a Teaching Fellow and continued their work until 2020. Currently, Harriet is working as a Software Engineer at IXL Learning.

Harriet Small attended Brown University from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
