Robert Friedman

Robert Friedman has an extensive work history in various leadership roles within the scientific and policy fields. Robert started their career in the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment in 1978 as a Senior Associate, where they worked until 1995. Following this, they joined The H. John Heinz III Center for Science, Economics and the Environment as the Vice President for Research from 1995 to 2003. Robert then went on to work at the J. Craig Venter Institute, where they held multiple positions including Vice President for Public Policy from 2003 to 2009, Deputy Director for California from 2009 to 2012, Chief Operating Officer from 2012 to 2013, and finally Vice President for Policy and University Relations from 2014 onwards.

Robert Friedman received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Ecological Systems Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they studied from 1972 to 1978.
