Joshua J. began their work experience in 2002 as a Consultant at EY. Joshua then joined Walton Street Capital as an Acquisition Analyst from 2002 to 2006. In 2010, Joshua worked as a Finance Project Manager at The Community Builders, Inc. Finally, in 2011, they founded J. Jeffers and Company, where they served as the Founder/CEO. In this role, they worked on signature redevelopments such as Belle City Square/Horlick Malted Milk Factory complex, Milwaukee Athletic Club, and Huron Office Building.

Joshua J. obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1998 to 2003. Their field of study during this period was Finance and Real Estate & Urban Land Economics. Later, they pursued a Masters in Public Policy (MPP) degree at the Harvard Kennedy School from 2010 to 2012, focusing on Social & Urban Policy.
