Peter Bergman

Peter Bergman is an Associate Professor of Economics at The University of Texas at Austin since August 2021 and has held a similar position at Columbia University from September 2013 to August 2021. Bergman directs Learning Collider and co-chairs the Education Technology Initiative at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT, while also serving as a Schmidt Futures Innovation Fellow and co-founding Diffusion Venture Studio, where the focus is on launching scalable EdTech ventures. Previous experience includes teaching as a Middle School Special Education Teacher at IS 195 through the NYC Teaching Fellows program. Education includes a PhD in Economics from UCLA and a Bachelor's degree in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
