Karsten Junius

Karsten Junius is the Chief Economist and Head of Economic & Strategy Research at Bank J. Safra Sarasin Ltd since April 2014. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund from January 2011 to March 2014, and Head of Capital Markets and Real Estate Research at DekaBank from May 2000 to December 2010. Karsten also held positions as an Economist at Metzler Asset Management and as a Research Associate at the Institut für Weltwirtschaft, Kiel. Educational qualifications include a CFA obtained between 2003 and 2005, a Dr. rer pol in Economics from Kiel University, and an M.A. in Economics from Wayne State University, alongside additional degrees in International Economics and a Bachelor's in Economics.
