Todd Nelson has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Todd began their career at Procter & Gamble as a Research Scientist in Anti-Infective Discovery from April 1994 to August 1995. Todd then joined Merck in October 1995 and held various roles including Sr Research Chemist, Research Fellow, Associate Director and Director of Process Research until October 2008. From November 2008 to October 2011, Todd served as the Director of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Merck. Todd also had the opportunity to be the Co-Chair of the 2011 Gordon Research Conference on Organic Reactions and Processes. In March 2014, they joined WuXi AppTec as Vice President until June 2015. Todd then worked as a Consultant at TDN Chemistry from July 2015 to June 2016. Todd later joined J-STAR Research, Inc. in July 2016 as SVP + COO and currently holds the position of EVP + COO starting January 2022.

Todd Nelson received their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Northwest Missouri State University, graduating in 1986. Todd then pursued their higher education at The Johns Hopkins University, where they completed their PhD in Organic Chemistry from 1987 to 1992. Following this, they conducted post-doctoral studies in Organic Chemistry at Colorado State University from 1992 to 1994.
