Ben Hamer

Ben Hamer has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Ben is currently the Managing Director at Mackley, a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to this, in 2021, they were the Director of Operations at SYSTRA, where they worked on delivering major projects for the development of the UK high-speed rail infrastructure.

From 2019 to 2021, Ben held various roles at JESA S.A, including Project Executive and Director of Buildings & Infrastructure. Ben was responsible for overseeing projects and managing the buildings and infrastructure department. Before that, from 2018 to 2019, they served as the Director of Projects at Jacobs.

Ben's previous experience includes working at CH2M, where they held the positions of Director Of Project Services and Global Director of Delivery and Risk Management, Transportation. In these roles, they focused on project delivery, risk management, and led various global functions and delivery platforms.

Prior to their tenure at CH2M, Ben worked at Halcrow, where they held positions such as Director, Operations and Risk, Director, Maritime, and Project Director/Manager, Maritime. Ben also had earlier roles at West Dorset District Council and HR Wallingford.

Overall, Ben has a wealth of experience in managing projects, operations, and risk across various industries, including transportation, infrastructure, and maritime.

Ben Hamer attended Weymouth Grammar School from 1979 to 1986. Ben then pursued higher education at the University of Southampton from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in oceanography with maths. Additionally, in August 2019, they received certification as a Full Member of the Association of Project Management (MAPM), which has now lapsed.
