Matthew Gerring

Matthew Gerring is a seasoned software developer and senior manager in computational sciences with a robust background in creating scalable software solutions around scientific algorithms. Currently employed at The Jackson Laboratory since August 2020, Matthew specializes in leveraging cloud technologies such as GCP, Azure, and AWS. Prior experience includes significant roles at Halliburton, where Matthew led the migration of Landmark software to the cloud while developing machine learning algorithms, and at Diamond Light Source, where Matthew coordinated core software development efforts and managed teams. Matthew's career began at ANSYS, Inc. as a junior software developer, followed by positions at EASA Ltd., ESRF, and Diamond Light Source, culminating in a comprehensive skill set in software architecture, project leadership, and cloud-based solutions. Matthew holds an MEng in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Science from the University of Birmingham.
