Ina Watson

Ina Watson has a diverse and extensive work history. Starting in 1976, they worked as an Assistant Professor of History at Washington University until 1978. Ina then moved on to Forest Park Community College/Forest Park, where they served as an Assistant Professor of History, teaching and developing classes in African and African-American Drama, History, and Literature. During their time there, they also published a book outlining the history of African-Americans in the United States. In 1980, they joined the University of Missouri-St. Louis as a Project Director for the Black History Project/University Archives. In this role, they developed primary and secondary resources in the St. Louis community and organized state conferences highlighting the achievements and contributions of African Americans. Ina remained with the University of Missouri-St. Louis until 1984. Continuing their career in education, Ina Watson then moved to Alexander City Public Schools, serving as an Education Specialist from 2003 to 2008. Finally, from 2008 to the present, they have been a Teacher at Jackson Public Schools.
