Christian Smithson

Christian Smithson has a diverse work experience that spans different industries. Christian currently works as a Data Science Manager at Jacksonville Transportation Authority since June 2022. Prior to this role, they served as a Financial Analyst III - Research and Special Projects from April 2021 to June 2022 and as a Financial Analyst - Research and Special Projects from May 2019 to April 2021 at the same organization.

Christian also conducted market assessments to ensure competitive service pricing.

Christian Smithson's education history includes a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics, which was obtained from the University of North Florida between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, between 2015 and 2016, Christian obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Business Administration and Finance, General from Florida State College at Jacksonville. Additionally, Christian is currently pursuing a MicroMaster's degree in Statistics and Data Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with an expected completion year of 2023.

In terms of certifications, Christian has obtained several related to data science, such as a Professional Certificate in Data Science from HarvardX in July 2020. Other certifications include Data Science: Inference and Modeling, Data Science: Linear Regression, Data Science: Probability, Data Science: Productivity Tools, Data Science: Wrangling, Data Science: R Basics, and Data Science: Visualization, all obtained from HarvardX in 2020. In 2019, Christian obtained a certification in Data Science: Machine Learning from HarvardX, and Statistics and R from HarvardX in October. Prior to that, Christian acquired certifications from LinkedIn, including Excel Data Visualization Part 2: Designing Custom Visualizations, Business Analytics: Data Reduction Techniques Using Excel and R, and Logistic Regression in R and Excel, all in 2019. Christian also holds a certification in Financial Data Analytics from the University of North Florida acquired in April 2019, as well as a Bloomberg Market Concepts certification from Bloomberg LP obtained in June 2018.
