William Penwell is an accomplished academic in the field of biology and marine science, currently serving as Chair and Associate Professor at Jacksonville University since August 2018. Prior to this role, William was an Assistant Professor at Benedictine College from 2016 to 2018 and worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at AstraZeneca from 2014 to 2016. Their doctoral research at Miami University focused on "Iron Acquisition in Acinetobacter baumannii," culminating in a Ph.D. in Microbiology. Additionally, William has experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Microbiology Graduate Research Assistant during their time at Miami University, as well as a Teaching Assistant at Westminster College. William holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Westminster College.
