Tony Vecchio

Tony Vecchio has over three decades of experience in wildlife management and conservation, currently serving on the Board of Directors for Visit Jacksonville since 2010, and as Executive Director and CEO of both the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens and Jacksonville Zoo Society since July 2009. Previous roles include Director at the Oregon Zoo from March 1998 to July 2009, and Director at Roger Williams Park Zoo from 1988 to 1998. Early career experience includes serving as Curator of Mammals at Zoo Atlanta from 1986 to 1988. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Biology and Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Resource Management with a focus on Wildlife Management and Conservation from Penn State University.
