Carolyn Dougherty

Carolyn Dougherty is an experienced engineering manager with a comprehensive background in rail infrastructure projects and engineering management. Currently serving as Engineering Manager at Jacobs since January 2022, Carolyn has led significant design initiatives including DART+ depot enabling and the Victoria Station upgrade. Previous roles include Technical Principal at Mott MacDonald, where achievements included directing critical projects for Network Rail and playing a key role in the Northern Powerhouse Rail initiative. Carolyn's engineering experience extends back to project engineering roles at Network Rail and Tata Steel Europe, and Carolyn has also contributed to educational efforts as an instructor at Laney College. Carolyn holds a PhD and MA in Railway Studies from the University of York, an MSc in Civil/Transportation Engineering from UC Berkeley, and a BA in Communications, showcasing a strong academic foundation in both engineering and history.
