Karen Murphy is the Technical Director of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage for Jacobs in Australia and New Zealand. They hold a PhD in Historical Archaeology from The University of Queensland and have over 21 years of experience in heritage management across various roles in government, academia, and consultancy. Karen has a deep understanding of Australian heritage legislation and has led numerous projects throughout Australia as well as in Turkey, the USA, and Sweden. They previously served as the Archaeology Member on the Heritage Council of Victoria and have held positions including Technical Leader at Jacobs and Senior Heritage Officer at the Cultural Heritage Branch of the Environmental Protection Agency.
