Nick Tanner has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Nick started their career at Aladdin Industries in 2004 as a CAD Specialist. From there, they moved to WCA Structural Engineering in 2005, where they continued as a CAD Specialist until 2008. In 2008, they joined Calder Richards Consulting Engineers as a CAD Specialist and worked until 2009. During the same time, they also worked as a Drafter at Wavell-Huber Wood Products for a brief period. In 2009, they joined CTS Engineering as a CAD & BIM Specialist and stayed until 2012. Most recently, they have been working at Jacobsen Construction since 2011, initially as a VDC Specialist and currently as a VDC Operations Engineer. In their role at Jacobsen Construction, they are responsible for creating 3D models, virtual mock-ups, and conducting model validation, among other tasks.
Nick Tanner completed their education in the field of architecture. Nick first attended Salt Lake Community College from 2001 to 2007, where they obtained an Associate of Science (AS) in Architectural Technology, an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) in Architectural Technology/Technician, and an AAS in CAD & Computer Graphics, with a focus on architectural drafting and CAD/CADD.
After that, they joined the University of Utah and pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Architecture Studies from 2007 to 2009. Nick continued their studies at the same university and obtained a Master of Architecture degree in 2011.
In addition to their formal education, Nick Tanner also holds several certifications. Nick became an Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Architectural Design in January 2020 and a Procore Certified Project Manager in October 2019. Nick also received certifications in various Autodesk software, including Revit Architecture and AutoCAD, between 2012 and 2015. Furthermore, they obtained a Remote Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in September 2016 and an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification in August 2012.
Most recently, in April 2021, Nick Tanner completed the DroneDeploy Fundamentals course from DroneDeploy.
