Shilpa Gulati is an accomplished leader in the field of autonomous systems with extensive experience in safety, compliance, planning, and prediction. Currently serving as Director of Safety and Compliance for Onboard Software and Director of Behavior Prediction at Waymo since June 2018, Shilpa has previously held significant roles at Nuro as Head of Planning, Prediction and Control, and at Apple as Senior Engineering Manager, where Shilpa built an organization of top researchers and engineers. Earlier, Shilpa contributed to advancements in self-driving technology at Robert Bosch as a Senior Research Engineer, focusing on motion planning algorithms, and developed an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle for a NASA-sponsored project at Stone Aerospace. Shilpa holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and both a Master of Technology and Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
