Watson Luis

Watson Luis has a diverse work experience in the field of data engineering and analysis. Their most recent role was as a Mid Data Engineer at Jalasoft, where they have been working since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Data Engineer at Scotia GBS Dominican Republic from May 2022 to June 2023, and at Banco BHD León from September 2021 to April 2022.

Watson's earlier experience includes working as a Junior Data Engineer at Ministerio Administrativo de la Presidencia from March 2019 to July 2020, and as a Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst at Abt Associates from May 2018 to February 2019.

Before transitioning into data engineering, Watson worked as a Data Analyst at AFP Siembra, S.A. from October 2016 to May 2018.

Watson Luis obtained a degree in Engineering with a specialization in Software Engineering from Universidad APEC, where they studied from 2014 to 2018. In 2019, they completed a diploma in Business Intelligence and Data Analysis at Educación Permanente INTEC. Watson also obtained another diploma in Oracle Database from Universidad APEC in 2018. Prior to their university education, from 2009 to 2013, Watson attended Instituto Politécnico Loyola, where they pursued a degree in Digital Electronics with a focus on Micro Computing.

In addition to their formal education, Watson has acquired several certifications. In 2019, they obtained the Scrum Foundation Professional Certificate from CertiProf. More recently, in 2022, they completed the Google Cloud Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals course offered by Coursera and obtained certifications in Distributed Computing with Spark SQL and Learning Data Governance.
