Montel Gordon is a Doctoral Student at the University of Glasgow, studying sociology, and also serves as the Global Sustainable Development Event Lead with the Advanced Research Centre, coordinating events for projects such as Everyday Clean and Story Telling for Change. Active as a freelance opinion writer for The Jamaican Gleaner and The Voice Media Group, Montel also founded the blog Nostalgia’99, which explores the intersections of music, culture, and politics. Additional experience includes working as a Teaching Assistant with Empowering Learning Ltd, serving as Project Program Coordinator with LionHeart In The Community in Senegal, and previously holding a role as Research Assistant with the Early Intervention Foundation. Montel is set to begin work as an Incoming English Teacher Trainee with Gotoco in late 2023, and possesses an extensive educational background with degrees in sociology and modern history from the University of Warwick and the University of Nottingham.
