Ben Jarihani

Senior Lecturer at James Cook University

Ben Jarihani is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the fields of hydrology, environmental sciences, and agricultural systems. Currently serving as a Senior Lecturer, Senior Data Scientist, and Senior Research Fellow at James Cook University since September 2022, and as Program Lead for Transformational Agricultural Systems at the Tropical North Queensland Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub since June 2024. Prior roles include Senior Research Fellow at the University of the Sunshine Coast and Assistant Professor & Senior Research Scientist at the University of Central Asia. Ben's background also includes a postdoctoral research fellowship at CSIRO and experience as a Hydrologist and Water Engineer at Lar Consulting Engineers Co. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Spatial Hydrology and a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Queensland, alongside a Master's in Water Resources Engineering and a Bachelor's in Irrigation and Drainage.
