Cynthia Schmidt is an experienced educator and consultant with a diverse background in teaching and management. Currently serving as a 1st grade teacher at James Irwin Charter Schools since July 2016, Cynthia has also worked as a reading interventionist for the Colorado Springs School District 11 and held positions as a lead teacher at Huntington Learning Center and manager at MEDTEC Group and Bentley's Restaurant. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Business Education from Hofstra University, a Work-Based Learning Certification from the University at Buffalo, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing from Sacred Heart University. Founded in 2000, it has 3 campuses and nearly 2,000 students. The mission of James Irwin Charter Schools is to help guide students in the development of their character and academic potential through academically rigorous, content-rich educational programs.
