Bob Hallahan

Bob Hallahan is an accomplished music educator with extensive experience in jazz instruction. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at James Madison University since August 2010, Bob teaches a range of courses including private jazz piano, jazz improvisation, and jazz theory. Prior to this role, Bob was an Instructor at the University of Virginia from September 1990 to April 2010, where Bob not only taught jazz piano but also contributed as a founding member of the Free Bridge Quintet. Additionally, Bob has held an adjunct position at Virginia Commonwealth University from September 1981 to April 2010, where responsibilities included teaching jazz history and coaching ensembles, as well as being a founding member of the VCU Jazzmasters. Bob holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from East Carolina University, completed in 1973.
