Leigh Zimmermann

Leigh Zimmermann currently serves as the Coordinator of Adventure & TEAM Programs at James Madison University, a role held since August 2025. Previously, as Director of the Outdoor Learning Center at Endless Horizons from August 2022 to August 2025, Leigh oversaw experiential education and outdoor adventure programs for over 250 educational and community organizations annually. Earlier experience includes Program Director at Manidokan Camp & Retreat Center and Assistant Director, Research and Education at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership, where significant contributions were made to the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative. Additional roles include Outreach Coordinator for Solutions to Avoid Red Tide, Inc. and a John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow at NOAA. Educational background includes a Master of Science in Marine Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies, both from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
