Tyson Thomas is a seasoned tennis coach with extensive experience in various educational institutions. Currently serving as the Head Tennis Coach at James Madison University since July 2023, Tyson previously held the position of Assistant Tennis Coach at the University of Pennsylvania from September 2022 to April 2024. Prior experience includes serving as the Head Men's Tennis Coach at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from June 2014 to October 2022 and as an Assistant Tennis Coach and Volunteer Administrative Assistant at the same university from August 2013 to October 2022. Tyson also contributed as a Volunteer Assistant at the University of Virginia from September 2019 to June 2022. In addition to coaching, Tyson has experience in youth development with the Peace Corps, where the framework for the first Malian National Tennis Academy was constructed, and served as Tennis Program Director at Peter Burwash International from November 2005 to January 2009. Tyson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska Kearney, earned between 2000 and 2005.
